watch out ladies....blue eyes and a feaux-hawk...
there weren't any particulary stand out pics of dani on this batch of pics...although unlike her to miss a photo opp, she wasn't really on this role...
before we start playing favorites i do have a song for dani on this post...mar sent this to me a while back and i played it for dani bc i loved it...now she calls it her angel song...
if i could figure out how to post a song, i would but until then...here are the lyrics...it's by jack johnson
****I've got an angel She doesn't wear any wings She wears a heart that can melt my own She wears a smile that can make me wanna sing She gives me presents With her presence alone She gives me everything I could wish for She gives me kisses on the lips just for coming home She could make angels I've seen it with my own eyes You gotta be careful when you've got good love Cause the angels will just keep on multiplying But you're so busy changing the world Just one smile can change all of mine We share the same soul****
love my butterbean...

Love these kids...

Wednesday, May 14, 2008

with most of our family and friends living in other countries we thought this might be a good way to keep those that might be interested in the loop... life in la casa verde is hectic and i struggle to keep in touch with even my local friends...

we recently had to let our live-in nanny go...after two days of watching her on a nanny-cam we found that dani was watching spanish novelas all day and remi at 3 weeks old was chilling in his bouncy chair for most of the day...omar and i happened to forward thru and see her jerk remi out of his chair after apparently being irritated that he was crying when she was trying to eat...it's scary to see what people do when you're not around...live and learn.

mom and my best friend casey are currently tag teaming the kids around their work schedules. fortunately for us and the kids they have somewhat flexible work schedules and have stepped up to help us out...I know we keep them both exhausted, but we are so so so appreciative for their help. The most stressful part of having kids so far has been finding a good daycare situation for everyone.

Dani is in preschool a couple of days a week and seems to really enjoy it. She'll be in kindergarten in a couple of years...hard to believe...

back to life being hectic and my excuses for not religiously sending out pics of the kids and calling to catch up with everyone...i realized tonight that women are absolutely multi-taskers by nature...i had this epiphany tonight when i caught a glimps of my reflection in the sliding glass door...still wearing my skirt from work...wearing remi in a sling....i was cleaning the kitchen, talking on the phone to christy, drinking a glass of wine, side barring to answer the odd late night email, im, or phone call from work....all the while negotiating bedtime with a 3 year old...

omar plays soccer on mondays and wednesdays, but he comes home from work every day and the minute he hits the front door he's moving at mach speed cleaning, cooking, and working in the yard while i drink my 30th coffee of the day in a daze waiting for the caffeine buzz to kick me into multi-tasking mode...

seems like there's always a mountain of things to be done...but i don't think either of us would know what to do if there wasn't...we'd be bored...

Casey and Kevin's wedding party is this weekend...and we're going with NO KIDS! Auntie Mar offered to watch the kids for us and we pounced on the offer (Thanks Marty Mar!) I'll have pics to post from the party next week...This is a photo op i've been waiting a long time for...Casey's much deserved day! It's been a long time coming...and was well worth the wait.

The 4th is just around the corner and Omar and I have already secured a babysitter (THANKS GRANI!!!!) to keep the kids.... so we're headed down to the Errico's kidless this year...can't wait for the summer games at camp dolphin this year!

oops...didn't mean to write so much...if you've actually read this, consider yourself caught up on life en la casa verde...

almost forgot...our friend Pili (very close friend from Mexico) is coming to stay with us for almost the whole summer! She's going to help us with the kids while we're at work and hopefully get to see the east coast on the weekends! Thanks to Gerardo for letting us borrow her...we'll take great care of her!

I meant to post this last night. Blogging seems to be headed in the same direction as birthday and thank you cards...written but never sent. We're all enjoying having the Walkers two doors down. Dani gets to play with Hunter almost every day and Casey and I get play dates in the evenings after the kids are sleeping. Kind of like desperate housewives, minus the drama, the money, and the deception. LOL
